Unquenchable

Unquenchable, the Spirit burns
Endlessly; within me yearns
To be
As me.

Though IT (I know) can never die,
Mental voices speak the lie
That IT
And I
Are not the same.

This empty, oft repeated claim,
By suffering and earthly shame,
Christ Jesus
Overcame.
