Lies

In spite of Satan's daily lies,
The horrors that assault my eyes,
The sounds of life's tormented cries,
Death descending from the skies,
In heart and mind I realize,
I am a soul that never dies.

I long to finally gain the prize,
Awaiting beyond my demise,
The 'hello' after my goodbyes,
Severing my earthly ties,
Then at last my soul shall rise,
And prove to me my choice was wise.

It's not to me a great surprise,
That human mind can not comprise,
The love that God to me supplies,
Until the day when I arise,
My spirit to my Father flies,
To know my God without disguise.
