I'm Late

I'm late ! I'm late !
Rushing through the gate
And hoping they will wait
If I'm not there by eight
To pick up my new mate
Who's coming in a crate
I've heard is quite ornate
From a distant state.

Her name I'm told is Kate
And I can hardly wait
Because I paid a rate
I thought was very great
Based upon her weight
To see if she will sate
My hunger for a mate
And all my angst placate.

I would surely hate
For it to be my fate
After I took the bait
To find we can't relate
My hopes it would deflate
To enter a debate
About the stuff she ate
While riding in her crate.

Please hit me on my pate
For not breaking this date.
Too bad I was not late
Or not opened the crate
And sealed my ugly fate
Hitched up to this Kate
And everything she ate
Adding so much weight
They could not move the crate.
