Dentistry, Oh Dentistry

Tooth decay just makes my day.
I think a filling is quite thrilling,
And abscesses are wondrous messes.

Nitrous oxide for the pain?
No, no, no. Use novocaine.
Put the needle in reeeeal deep;
Not too much, ... they'll fall asleep.
It makes them bite their lips, you see,
And dribble when they drink. Tee hee.

Oh to cap a chipped incisor!
That will surely make them wiser.
Numb the gum for root canals;
Works the same on guys and gals.
Shooting x-rays is too easy;
Doesn't seem to make them queasy.

Impacted wisdoms! there's some fun.
I drill and chisel every one.
Have I mentioned root canals ?
They are some of my favorite pals.
Fluoridation? Aggravation;
Cuts down on their cavities.
And let the orthodontists do
The silly frilly work, but you
Can pull their molars ... that's the ticket.
Makes them jumpy as a cricket.

But the best of all, I've found,
Is doing an expensive crown.
At eight hundred bucks or more
I think of it as quite a score.
I am the prince of crowns you see;
And owe it all to dentistry.

Dentistry, Oh dentistry!
You have been so good to me.
I'm no fool; I love this school.
I'll not shirk my favorite work
Of teaching others how to do it;
It's such fun I'm sticking to it.
