The Glorious Revolution

Had Lucifer succeeded in overthrowing Jehovah's absolute rule of the cosmos, he would today, like some earthlings I suppose, be called a Great Hero of the Glorious Revolution, or possibly a labor union leader or head of a large law firm.

More seriously, logic suggests that Lucifer was either a being created by God, or somehow an independent entity coequal with God who managed to save His kingdom because two-thirds of the angels stood with Him to defeat the insurrection.

So, instead of gaining control of the heavenly places, the "Angel of Light" was cast down and now rules a pitiful little planet, one of nine (or ten; experts can't agree which), orbiting in third position, around a small dying red star, and inhabited by self-styled intelligent beings who have absolutely no concept of what the cosmos actually is, where it came from, how it came to be, what is in it, how far it reaches, and so forth, but are satisfied to confidently strut about emulating their master who has had his name changed from Lucifer to Satan, Beelzebub, Devil, Old Nick, and the like. I expect he is quite satisfied with the final result of his attempt to overthrow God and gain for himself the worship poured out on Jehovah-God. Satan is, after all, much worshipped in this small cosmic corner under his rule.
