3 is the Onlyest Number |

Reality of Number
The first possibility = IS. The second possibility = IS NOT. Aristotelian logic suggests neither IS nor IS NOT can exist without the other. If there is an IS, then its opposite condition is IS NOT. IS can't be without the potential to not be. The third possibility = IS and IS NOT together. This is reality. The binary system offers only is/is not, or 0 & 1, yin/yang, and so forth. The binary system of possibilities is itself the third possibility. Therefore, what we know as 3 is the minimum possible existential number in the base 10 system. It matters not if a different base is used; hexadecimal or any other. The numeric expression in other base systems of mathematics may not look like a 3 but it must nevertheless conform to the total number of possibilities, which is three. Perhaps that explains the Trinity. Or, maybe the Trinity explains that reality. Sagaverus October 2003 |
