Praise for Multiculturalism

America's enlightened leftist elite have long known that all cultures are equal, and, most certainly the architects of our Western DWM (Dead White Male) culture were dead wrong to suppose they had created an ethos which is in any manner superior to any other.

Thus they, the elitists, have taken control of the education system in America to rid us of our arrogant presumptions and inculcate in us all, especially children, that every culture is as valid as every other.

Herewith then, a
Partial List of the Failings of Corrupt Western Culture

GENDER EQUALITY:
Our Western culture has striven to accord full equality to women, and beyond that, even a measure of deference. This is in no way superior to cultures which denigrate and chattelize women, and deprive them of education lest they discover their condition.

CHILDREN:
Surely, our Western culture which has striven to protect children from the vicissitudes of onerous labor, from predation in all its forms, and provide them with an opportunity to become all they can be, is not in any manner superior to those in which children are used as pack animals, prostitutes, slaves, and shields for terrorists too cowardly to show their faces.

FREEDOM:
Surely, our Western culture which has striven to provide freedom to every member of our societies, is not one iota better than those in which humans are enslaved for the benefit of the few who control them. How dare we regard them as somehow morally inferior.

AGGRESSION vs PEACE:
If unmolested, our Western cultures would live in simple peace with others. To think this is better than those who would overrun their neighbors ... destroying, pillaging, raping, and visiting all manner of horrors upon innocent neighbors, is the height of arrogance.

RELIGION:
Surely, our Western culture which has permitted every person to believe as he will and honor his God or gods or devils as he sees fit, can't be considered superior to those in which a person will be decapitated or otherwise executed for daring to "blaspheme" the name of a dead nonwhite male whom they deem a holy messenger.

FOOD:
Our Western culture tries to produce enough food to assure that every person has enough, and even attempts to feed others in the world who lack sufficient food, usually because of governments which starve people to maintain control. How is this attitude, this cultural value, better than where persons in power luxuriate in excess while they permit vast numbers of their "subjects" to starve to death. Again and again, we have stretched our resources to mitigate famines around the world. So what?

WATER:
Anglo societies, particularly the United States, have struggled mightily, and with success, to assure safe drinking water for every person in our society and beyond. Outreach organizations toil incessantly trying to bring the same safe water to others in remote parts of the world.

This is, of course, not a bit better than societies where people bathe in and drink from rivers downstream from defecating hippopotamuses, or take their water from wells contaminated by the rotting diseased bodies of their ancestors buried on the same site so they can be close by. You must agree that their approach to water is every bit as good as ours since all cultures are fundamentally equal and deserving of respect.

JUSTICE:
Surely, our Western culture which uses a jury system and rules of evidence to assure justice for alleged perpetrators of criminal acts is not a bit better than those in which police invade and execute without trial; where thousands have been buried in mass graves. It's their culture and there is nothing wrong with that.

LEADERS:
In many cultures around the world the inhabitants are ruled by corrupt and ruthless men who subjugate the society's members to whatever degradations and perversions that delight the rulers. Surely, our Western culture which provides that the citizenry be governed by consent through chosen leaders is in no way superior to those aforementioned. To argue otherwise is to be judgmental, arrogant, and morally reprehensible.

DRUGS:
Anglo Western culture struggles to protect its members from the ravages of chemicals like heroin, cocaine, methamphetamines and other life destroying ingestibles, trade in which results in violent murders, abject poverty, among other effects. On the other side of the issue are cultures which produce, at great profit, the aforementioned chemicals, and participate in the distribution of same. Can you see any difference in these sets of values? Is one way superior to the other? Certainly not. All cultures are equal.

The flip side of the drugs issue is the ongoing effort of Western societies to formulate new pharmaceuticals to alleviate the diseases of the entire earthly population. Organizations abound who devote their resources to freely distributing drugs which help fight the plagues of HIV, dysentery, malaria, and all sorts of illness prevalent especially in the "third world" nations.

If you believe this is somehow better than societies which apparently do nothing and care nothing about the sickness and suffering of their masses, then you are sadly misguided and should be re-educated to bring you in line with the thinking of the morally and intellectually superior beings who promote diversity and sing praises to multiculturalism.

CHARITY:
"In 2007, Americans set a new record by giving $306.39 billion to their favorite causes" (http://www.nps.gov/partnerships/ fundraising_individuals_statistics.htm). I have not found statistics for the world but historically 80% of all worldwide missionary expenses were funded by Americans. The figures for disaster relief, anti-poverty programs, health initiatives, education support, and so on, paid out by individual Americans plus the Federal Government's Foreign Aid, runs into billions. No telling how large the total is for all Western societies. If anyone knows please tell me.

Now you or I might argue that this extreme generosity on our part toward those in need is more or less irrelevant in terms of a culture's true worth. Those who take our gifts, those who steal from us, those who divert our aid to personal gain, are just products of their culture which is certainly equal to ours in every way, according to multiculturalist views.

I am going to stop this monograph here. Reading what I have written and knowing it is true, depresses me. I can't think of a good reason to continue with it. If you, like me, have mistakenly held to the notion that our culture is better for humankind than some others, I am sorry to have burst your bubble. You can see from the above examples that ours is not better than other on earth.
