Root Causes

Following every outpouring of violence, hatred, or some other evil, the general public is treated to a chorus of talking heads insisting we must identify the "root causes" of all the horrors that plague our planet. Sociologists, psychologists, pundits and journalists of the Western Liberal bent are really searching for an excuse to apply to the evildoers so they can find some way to blame Society at large; in other words, somehow find a way to blame the innocents for the acts of the evildoers. The truth is too simple for them to grasp. The root cause of terrorism is ... surprise, terrorists. The root cause of crime is ... can you believe it, criminals. The root cause of hatred is ... hate-filled people. The root cause of violence is ... violent people. The root cause of all sin is ... sinners. The root cause of poverty, AIDS, adultery, drug addiction, and every other evil, is the willingness, gullibility, and stupidity of human beings acting, in selfish interests, cooperatively with the father of lies who would otherwise be powerless on the earth.
