| The New "Moral High Ground" |
|
We, who are American Citizens, by birth and/or naturalization, are expected to obey our nation's laws or face our criminal justice system's consequences.
We are required to keep proper records and document our incomes so we can be taxed on every cent we earn. Honesty, fairness, and equality under the law, used to be the "moral high ground". But now, according to some United States Senators who claim to occupy the moral high ground, those who have entered our country in violation of our laws, and continued to do so for at least five years, shall be eligible to become citizens by, among other things, paying income taxes based on their choice of any three years from their most recent five years of illegal presence, and on amounts they declare to be their income. Would that we law-abiding legal citizens should get such a tax break. By the way, these are the same Senators who decry outrageous "tax breaks for the rich". This all helps to clarify who are America's real enemies. Sagaverus |
