Be it remembered, That on this day, to wit: the Twenty third of August
in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy four
and the Ninety Ninth of the independence of the United States of America, before me, F G Antes [?]
duly commissioed and sworn Recorder of Births, Marriages and Deaths,in and for the
Parish and City of New Orleans, personally appeared:
Ramon Solaress a native of Spain residing
at No. 452 Bagolette Street in this City Which
hereby declares that on the fourteenth day of
July of this present year, July 14th 18illeg at
deponent's residence was born a male child named
Joseph Maria/Ramon Solores
Lawful issue of deponent With Juana
Solares Vinet a native of Spain, aged 28 years

Thus done at New orleans, in the presence of the aforesaid Ramon Solares
as also in that of Messrs. [illegible name] & [illegible name] both of this City,
witnesses, by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands, together with me, after due reading
hereof, the day, month and year first above written. [sig] illegible

                             [sig] illegible Recorder
Author notes: the recorder first attempted to write child's name as Joseph Solares, no middle name. It appears he then tried to wwite Joseph Ramon Solares but was countermanded and finally overwrote Josph Maria Solares, which explains why Joseph sometimes is listed as Joseph Ramon and other times listed as Joesph Maria. Joseph went by Joseph Maria. Recorder has mother's maiden and married names juxtaposed as Solares Vinet, should be Vinet Solares.

   Louisiana Marriages, 1718-1925
Joseph Solares Alicia Morano 28 Sep 1898 Orleans [Parish]
Author notes: Alicia Morano was the daughter of Theodore Morano and Alice Houidobre. Alice Houidobre's father was Jean and her mother was Honorine Marie Louise Vernatier who was Jean's first wife and mother of Louise and Alice. Though her death record has not been found, it must have been prior to 1878 when Jean married Francoise Rollin [or Bollin].

Francoise was mother to Emile, Louis, Honorine Georgiana Marie, & Clemence Houidobre. Georgiana Marie "Mary" was second wife to Ramon Solares. So, Alicia Morano's mother was half-sister to Ramon's wife Georgina Marie. Alicia was Georgina Marie's half-niece. Ramon's son Raymond [Ramon Jr] married his stepmother's half-niece.
Actual certificate not ordered.

Author notes: what L. Vinent under Business means, I do not know. Seemingly, all the Solares men were in the cigar making inudtry. I do know 'Vinent' is a misspelling of mother Juana Vinet's surname and that in the 1870 census her father is listed as 'L. Vinet'. It appears Joseph worked for or with his maternal grandfather in some business in downtown New Orleans.

Author notes: Shows his birth date, his wife Alecia's name Anglicized to Alice, and his employment as Shop Superintendent at Johnson Iron Works on Morgan St in Algiers, across the Mississippi river from downtown New Orleans.

He probably rode a streetcar or bus to Eads Plaza at the foot of Canal Street and boarded one of the frequently run ferries to go to work.

Forty years later, when I was working on S. Peters St. near the river, we had numerous warehouse workers living in Algiers. They came to work each day via ferry.

[1]Myocarditis is an uncommon disorder that is usually caused by viral infections such as coxsackie virus, adenovirus, and echovirus. It may also occur during or after various viral, bacterial, or parasitic infections (such as polio, influenza, or rubella). The condition may also be caused by exposure to chemicals or allergic reactions to certain medications and it can be associated with autoimmune diseases. The heart muscle becomes inflamed and weakened. This causes symptoms of heart failure.

[2]Interstitial nephritis is a kidney disorder caused by inflammation of the tubules and the spaces between the tubules and the glomeruli.

[3]Arteriosclerosis see Atherosclerosis
Arteriosclerosis; Hardening of the arteries; Plaque buildup - arteries

Atherosclerosis is a condition in which fatty material collects along the walls of arteries. This fatty material thickens, hardens, and may eventually block the arteries. Atherosclerosis is just one of several types of "arterio"-sclerosis, which is characterized by thickening and hardening of artery walls, but the two terms are often used to mean the same thing. Atherosclerosis is a common disorder of the arteries. It occurs when fat, cholesterol, and other substances build up in the walls of arteries and form hard substances called plaque. Eventually, the plaque deposits can make the artery less flexible. This makes it harder for blood to flow. If blood flow in the arteries leading to the heart is reduces, chest pain can occur. Plaques can also break apart, causing pieces of material to move through the artery. This is a common cause of heart attack and stroke. Blood clots can also form around the plaque deposits. Clots block blood flow. If the clot moves into the heart, lungs, or brain, it can cause a stroke, heart attack, or pulmonary embolism.
