NOTES: [1] Christopher and Susanna had all their children baptized at
First Presbyterian Church in Baltimore. Yet, one of their daughters was Sister Angela, a nun
in the Order/Oblates of Saint Ursula, known as Ursuline Sisters. Sr. Angela worked at a mission
in Matamoras, Mexico during the Mexican War of Independence. Her nephew Samuel C. Hepburn, a
civil engineer, spent time there doing work for the mission.

Additionally, there is a trail of involvement between this Johnston line and the Archbishop of
Baltimore. There are also various references online stating that the Johnstons in Scotland were
Roman Catholics.
