The Lafayette (Louisiana) Daily Advertiser published July 15, 1893 carried advertising by Maurice Villien selling building lots.


Saturday 22 this month will take place has Mauriceville, 13 miles of Lafayette, the bente of a qunatite of batches of ground. These grounds are lay out so as to build there residences and of the stores and to form liked small late city. All the streets are already tracees. A vault [chapel] is there built and the divine services are done there regularly. The population increases tous.les.jours [every day] there.
