Mroczek Family
Census Analysis

The census entries are self explanatory. A few points worth noting:
  1. Andrew reported he arrived in United States in 1899. No passenger records for him have been found online.
  2. Andrew's wife Olga was a widow in the 1930 census so he died between 1920 and 1930.
  3. In the decade 1920-30 the family, or at least the widow and surviving children, migrated from Herkimer, NY to Constableville near Haymarket Township, New York 55 miles away [see map below].
  4. Eldest son Rudolf disappeared from census in 1930. No death record has yet been found for him.
  5. For whatever reason, he reported his birth place as Austria in 1910 then in 1920 as Galicia, Poland. The Kingdom of Galicia & Lodomeria was partitioned between Poland and Ukraine.
  6. Wife Olga, maiden name unknown, reproted her birth place as Russia in 1910 census then in 1920 as Lthuania, but on the census sheet her nationality is indicated as Polish.
  7. In the 1920 census they stated they owned their home (a farm). Probably Olga sold it after Andrew's death and moved to Lewis County. No search has so far turned up any records for land, births, or marriages for this family. A visit to the county courthouse in Herkimer County may yield information

US Census records show that Olga, Andrew Jr, Nancy, and Adolph relocated from
[A} Herkimer, NY to [B] Constableville, NY between 1920 and 1930.
