The Life Of An Elephant
The Life Of An Elephant
by S. Eardley-Wilmot
Illustrated by Iris Eardley-Wilmot

Review: INTERESTING old book. Eardley-Wilmot also wrote "The Life of a Tiger" and "Forest Life and Sport in India". At the time he was writing, which was at the turn of the twentieth century, some beliefs held about elephants were patently in error based o nmodern scientific knowledge of the species. It is amusing to read some of the assertions made as fact, sort of like going back far enough you would read that the earth is flat since that was the extent of knowledge at the time.

It is doubtful you could find a copy of this now rare book. We turned it up with a book search conducted worldwide by a dealer in old books. Anyone can use such a dealer for the purpose so if you're interested in old books try your hand at searching.

This book looks its age. The fabric on the cover is faded, spotted, and torn. We consider it a bit of a treasure due to its age.

Format: Hard cover, cloth binding, 6 x 8 3/8 inches, 177 pages, deckled edges, numerous simple pen and ink drawings.
