How Elephants are used in
Communications Media


Elephants are incredibly popular, at least in America, where they or their likeness are used in all manner of ways from product packaging to advertising in all media formats. They also regularly appear in news items directly concerning elephants or in which elephants are a factor.

As we come across examples of such usage we collect them for inclusion in our Museum Of The Elephant [in formation]. In this gallery we list, purely for your information, as many instances as we can find. Some of them are supported by visuals ... others are simply listed. This is, in effect, a classroom on the Internet and we are holding these examples up in front of the class for discussion.

If you come across examples of elephants in media not shown in this gallery we would be pleased to receive them from you and will attribute them to you. New uses for elephant images are surfacing regularly. We especially would like to locate some "old time" material featuring Jumbo and other elephants in print or packaging. Also, examples of elephants in media in languages other than English. We basically have access only to American media.
