1997 August 14 NBC Nightly News Science Specialist Robert Bazell reporting on aging discovery: The piece opened with statements that the medical study being reported was based NOT on elderly human subjects nor on large mammals and the proceeded to show an African ELEPHANT as the stand-in for large mammals. The elephant had nothing whatever to do with the story but was apparently used for the attention getting value that elephants provide.
