A BRIEF HISTORY The White Elephant Shop was first opened by Ruth Toivainen in May of 1952. The present owners, Rick Grobe and Tom Ellis, have been running the store since 1985. Voted the "Best Antique Shop on the North Shore" two years in a row by Boston Magazine, it remains the largest consignment shop north of Boston. Quality consignments are always accepted.
