Elephanteria Gallery 5 Elephants in Advertising & Promotion |
Carpet Image - Full Page Newspaper Ad | |
|
This is a full page newspaper ad 13.5 inches wide by 22.5 inches high.
It filled all of page 10 in the Florida Times-Union, Clay County Community News edition
of May 15, 1991.
Carpet Image, the advertiser, has used the word "DURABILITY" as a headline with a very large image of a circus elephant standing on DUPONT® Certified Stainmaster carpet. The elephant is used in several different ways in this ad: 1. The IMAGE is a real attention getter. 2. An elephant LOOKS durable. 3. An elephant is HEAVY and known to be rough on surfaces. If an elephant won't hurt the carpet, you know it's good. 4. Circus elephants frequently defecate or urinate large amounts of waste while performing or parading. Presumably this carpet can resist stains that powerful. 5. Plenty of inventory ... they have a TON of it, another implied reference to an elephant's weight. They got a lot of mileage out of one elephant image. |
