| Bronze Statuette: Tiger Hunter Astride Elephant |
|
December 1992 Sarasota, Florida The photograph doesn't do justice to this fine example of sculpted art. Made of cast hollow bronze with a fine patina from age, this figure depicts a native hunter with spear riding his elephant into the hunt. Asians once, and maybe still, hunted tigers in this manner. The figure is part of the permanent collection of the Museum Of The Elephant in Formation. |
Dimensions in mm with base are: height 172, width 102, length 241. Probably made pre World War II. Obtained from an estate. |
