Gallery 4 - Potpourri of Objects, Oddities, Artifacts & Sounds ELEFUNT License Plates

Sarasota, Florida Florida vehicle license plates issued to Wayne Hepburn. These are placed in the permanent collection of the Museum Of The Elephant in Formation once the plate is replaced with a new one. The expiration year is visible in the upper right corner of each plate. Florida's specialty license plates have generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues dedicated to the purpose espoused by the plates. The state's colleges and universities, wildlife programs, children's educational and athletic programs, conservation, and all manner of public activities are supported by these revenues. Unfortunately Florida does not have an elephant plate. The ones shown here are among the designs which allow as many as seven characters. Most have space only for five characters.
